come and go
Both basically have the same meaning but the direction is different.
come
"Come" is used when the movement is towards the speaker. It is also used when the movement is towards the person spoken to.
- Johan is coming to see me next week.
- Is Penny able to come to your party next week?
- Can you come here please.
go
"Go" is used when the movement is away from the speaker. It is also used when the movement is away from the person spoken to.
- I am going to see Johan next week.
- Is Penny able to go to John's party?
- Can you go there please.
Some exceptions:
Idiomatically we use "come from" when talking about where our home town/state/country.
- He comes from Wales.
- I come from Melbourne.
Go is often used with "to"
- John is going to bed.
- I am going to work.
- I will go to the concert tomorrow.
Of course there are some exceptions to the go + to
- I will go home.
- I think we should go downtown.
And finally 'go' is often used with adverbs of place and direction.
- Please go inside.
- Go away! You are annoying me.
- He will go down to the river this afternoon.
Have a great afternoon.
